Collection & Drop-off procedure details

Please check our opening times to see when bikes are available to collect - Your specific collection & return time will be specified on your order details if you've ordered online.

All bikes must be returned within 30 minutes before the store closes if hired out for a single day.

Booking in advance is highly recommended on the weekends and during holiday periods to avoid disappointment

Please make note, before we can officially hand over the bike and begin your hire, we require a security deposit of £200 (Mountain Bikes, Hybrid Bikes & Kids Bikes) / £500 (Electric Bikes). This security deposit will be immediately refunded upon return of the bike(s).

What's included in a bike hire? Do I get anything else?

When you hire a bike, you get the following provided;

  1. The bike you wish to hire
  2. A helmet will be provided with every hired bike (Or you can wear your own). But we must insist that if you refuse to wear a helmet, we cannot allow you to hire a bike. We run on a strict no helmet, no hire policy.
  3. Tool-kit including lock, pump and spare tube.
  4. For those that wish we will provide printed maps of popular cycle routes local to the store.
What do I need to hire a bike?

If you wish to hire a bike from any of our stores please make sure you bring the following items, otherwise we cannot hire a bike out to you.

  • Photo ID: Passport or driving license (We will keep hold of this until you return the bike)
  • Credit/Debit card that matches your photo ID
What do I need to demo a bike?

If you wish to demo a bike from any of our stores please make sure you bring the following items, otherwise we cannot demo a bike out to you.

  • Photo ID: Passport or driving license (We will keep hold of this until you return the bike)
  • Credit/Debit card that matches your photo ID

Do you offer a group discount?

If there are 6 or more of you that wish to book hire bikes together - we can offer 10% off all hire prices! Just get into contact with your local store through email or phone, quote that you're in a group and you'll have the discount applied when you arrive to collect your bikes!

Hire & Demo Bike Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all people using a demo / hire bike provided by Leisure Lakes Bikes. Completion of a booking / reservation acknowledges acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by the participant:

  1. The rider is fully responsible for their actions whilst using the demo/hire bike. Leisure Lakes Bikes do not accept responsibility for the actions of the participant nor the consequences of such actions.
  2. Each rider is responsible for providing their own insurance protection while using a demo bike. Any accident or injury caused by the rider's actions will be the full responsibility of said rider.
  3. Each participant will be fully responsible for any fees or costs incurred or arising from an accident either involving or caused by the rider.
  4. Each rider, upon signing the booking form, agrees that they are physically and mentally capable of riding the demo / hire bike.
  5. The booking form must be completed by a person aged 18 years or over. Evidence of age may be requested.
  6. The rider agrees to wear, as a minimum, a suitably designed cycling specific helmet while using the demo/ hire bike. Leisure Lakes Bikes reserve the right to refuse demo bike use to anyone with inappropriate equipment or clothing.
  7. The rider agrees to return the bike to the demo/hire bike staff at the shop. Failure to return the bike will result in Leisure Lakes Bikes recovering the full retail value of the bike from the rider.
  8. The rider is responsible for any negligent damage caused to the bike. The cost of any damage caused (over and above standard wear and tear) will be recovered from the rider.
  9. Photo ID must be provided before the demo bike(s) will be released to the participant. Only nationally recognised forms of ID will be accepted i.e. Photo driving license and Passport

If you decide to buy any bike from us after hiring a bike, we will take the price you paid for hire off the price of the bike!

Cancellation Policy: Full refund is available up to 48 hours before your booking is due to take place, any closer to the booking than this we are only able to offer rearranging the booking to a later suitable date for yourself.
