Yeti SB150 C-Series 29er Mountain Bike 2020 Turquoise Information

Season : 2020

Brand : Yeti Cycles

Code : YCB20150CPTUP2C016700

“RACE BRED.” IT’S NOT JUST A SLOGAN PRINTED ON THE SB150 TOP TUBE. WE’VE BEEN PINNING ON NUMBERS AND PINNING THE THROTTLE SINCE 1985. SO WHEN CHOICES HAD TO BE MADE ON THE SB150, EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS MADE IN THE NAME OF UNBRIDLED SPEED. THE ULTIMATE EXAMPLE OF BREEDING A BIKE TO BEAT THE CLOCK.

The linage of the Yeti SB150 C-Series 29er Mountain Bike  starts way back in the history of the company as it is the culmination of everything we have learned from design world class downhill bikes and racing the World Cup circuit to the modern enduro racing on the EWS circuit. So riders and bikes like Myles Rockwell and his ARC-AS to Nathan Rennie and his DH-9 up to modern times with Richie Rude and his Team Edition SB6 have all influenced the design of the SB150.

SWITCH INFINITY
At the heart of the SB150 suspension design is our patented Switch Infinity suspension system. Switch Infinity utilizes a patented translating pivot that switches direction as the bike moves through its travel. This provides excellent anti-squat characteristics for superior pedaling performance and ideal suspension characteristics as it gets deeper into the travel.

TUNED FOR ENDURO PERFORMANCE
Switch Infinity has proven itself on the racecourse amassing more EWS wins than any other system. We took that winning heritage and made the leverage ratio more progressive (But not too progressive) to provide greater compatibility with modern shocks and various rider weights/styles. In addition, the bike has better small bump compliance, ramps up quicker in the mid-stroke for a playful supportive feel, while still allowing for full travel and bottom-out control. Thanks to Switch Infinity the anti-squat and pedaling efficiencies remain superb.

TESTED TO DH STANDARDS
The SB150 is built Richie "F-ing" Rude tough. The frame meets Yeti DH testing standards, well beyond what others do for a 150mm trail bike. This thing will last for a lifetime, but we gave you a warranty to match just for good measure.

PROGRESSIVE GEOMETRY
The SB150 has progressive enduro inspired geometry. We took what we learned from the SB6 and our Factory team riders and made it low, slack, and long. It is designed for shorter fork offsets, we slackened the "real" head angle and made the seat tube angle way steeper. The reach is also longer with shorter chainstays. What does this mean? All these elements increase the DH prowess and move the rider forward on the bike. But these advantages are not one-sided. The steeper seat angle, short fork offset, and forward riding position also keeps the front wheel on the ground, the power to the pedals and the steering quick and nimble when climbing.

SHOCK EXTENDER
The patent-pending wishbone shock extension was developed to maximize standover, maintain kinematics, fit a water bottle in the frame and allow easy access when replacing or servicing the shock. We also developed a shock extender that’s certified by FOX to accept a coil shock.

NEW WATER BOTTLE LOCATION
The water bottle fits comfortably inside the front triangle, where you might be used to looking for it. It took considerable effort to accommodate a bottle, optimize standover and meet our kinematic expectations, but we knew it was important to you. So we finally did it.

    How To Measure Yourself

    Measure Your Height

Our handy size charts match your height to the appropriate frame size so you need to be sure you’ve measured your height accurately.

    1. Take off your shoes and stand with your back against a wall.
    2. Make sure legs are together and your shoulders are back.
    3. Place a pencil on top of your head and mark the wall (the best and easiest way to do this properly is with a friend to help you).
    4. Measure from the floor to the pencil mark you have just made with a tape measure.

    Range of Reach

For most people to get the right frame size, measuring your height will suffice. However, you may find that your height is on the borderline of the range we suggest for a particular frame. If this occurs you need to measure the range of your reach or “Ape Index”. This will ensure you get a comfortable distance between the handlebars and your saddle.

    1. Stand up straight with your back against a wall.
    2. Life your arms out horizontally either side of you.
    3. Measure the distance from fingertip of one hand to fingertip of the other. This will give you your arm span.
    4. Subtract your height from this figure to get your Ape Index.
    5. If the result is positive (your arm span is greater than your height) you should go for the larger size of bike.
    6. If the result is negative (your arm span is less than your height you need the smaller size.

    Stand Over Height

You should also consider your inside leg measurement when choosing your bike to ensure adequate stand over height. Stand over height is the clearance between the top tube and the bottom of your crotch. For mountain bikes we recommend a distance of 2-4 inches and for road or hybrid bikes 1-2 inches of clearance is required. This will ensure comfort when you’re stopped and standing astride the bike.

Our bike sizing charts take stand over height into consideration but if you have a particularly long or short inside leg measurement in relation to your height you will need to bear this in mind when selecting your frame size.

    Riding Style

The way you ride and the type of bike you are into will also impact the frame size you should choose. For example, a trail devotee looking for an aggressive ride may prefer a smaller, more manoeuvrable bike size. It all comes down to personal preference and how the bike feels to you.

Our sizing charts aim to be as specific as possible so you can look up the particular type, make and model of bike you’re looking for. Remember, the sizes given in our guides are suggestions and should be used for general advice only. For the best possible fit  we recommend popping in to your local Leisure Lakes Bikes store, or call 0800 083 0888 for expert advice tailored to you.
