Returns

In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with your purchase please feel free to return your goods within 60 days of the purchase date for a full exchange or refund. Any item (excluding food and underwear) can be returned to us for any reason provided it is returned in ‘showroom condition’, with its original packaging, tags and a valid receipt/delivery note.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the item is returned to us in a safe and secure manner, and in the event of a refund or exchange, in saleable condition (in original packaging and including all warranty, cards, manuals and accessories).

Customers are accountable for return shipping charges.

Bike & Bulky Item Returns

If you wish to return your bike to us please keep it in the box it arrived in and call us on 01772 644340 and we will arrange a collection.

Please note the following:

  • a) If we have sent you the incorrect bicycle, we will cover the cost of collection and delivery of the correct model.
  • b) If we have delivered the bicycle you ordered, but upon inspection you decide it is not the bike for you, we will charge you £50.00 for the collection.

Please do not ride the bike as a full refund cannot be given if the bike has been used or damaged.

Return Items to a store

Any item (excluding food and underwear) can be returned to any Leisure Lakes Bikes store not just the one you made your purchase at, including those made online. The item must be returned in ‘showroom condition’, with its original packaging, tags and with a valid receipt/delivery note.

Returning goods from EU

If returning something from Europe you are responsible for the delivery cost. Wrong size or you don't like the item?

If returning items that are not suitable for either refund or exchange you are accountable for the delivery cost in returning it to us. You should always keep proof of postage and we advise you to use a ‘signed for service’ when returning goods.

New faulty items/ Wrong Item Received

If you have received items that are faulty or not what you ordered send them back to us (using the steps above) and we will cover the delivery cost of the return if it is within 14 days of delivery. If we have supplied the correct product, it is not faulty or it is outside of the 14 days we can not be liable for your postage charges. You should always keep proof of postage and we advise you to use a ‘signed for service’ when returning goods.

In the event that you have received items that are fault or not what you ordered, please send them back to us as soon as possible. Only in these cases will we cover the cost of the return shipping charges.

Faulty Items

If you have received items that are faulty please send them back to us using the steps above. Please include a covering letter describing the fault and if you would like the item replacing or refunding. Once the item arrives back at our Mail Order Centre you will receive an email notifying you about the progress. Faulty items are then forwarded onto the suppliers to confirm the warranty issue. Please be patient with us as we need to receive this confirmation from the suppliers before we can process your request for a replacement/refund.

When returning the item please use Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded* so that you have a tracking reference just in case! If your item arrived faulty we will refund your postage cost. If the item was in full working order at the time of delivery to you, we can not refund your return postage cost.

*In the event that you return a faulty/incorrect item we will refund your postage charge as long as it is 1st Class Recorded or a lesser value service. We do not refund premium services.

Refunds

Refunds will be processed using the same method of payment used for the original purchase. Credit and debit card refunds must be made to the card used for the original transaction, cheque payments will be refunded in cash but due to banking restrictions can only be refunded at least 14 days after the original purchase date. Due to the high incidence of fraud we regret that we are unable to offer any refund without a valid receipt/delivery note.

Refunds will be made for faulty or incorrect items, including any delivery charge incurred by the buyer (excluding ‘Special Delivery’) in the return of the item. If the products you ordered are delivered to you in good condition but you wish to return them for any reason we will refund the full value of the goods excluding any carriage charge upon receipt of your returned goods.

Items won’t be considered lost until after 15 working days of items being dispatched. Once the 15 working days are up we will issue a refund or replacement.

Not received your order?

If you have not received your order please call us on 01772 644340 and a member of staff can confirm the shipping date. Unfortunately we cannot consider an item to be lost until 15 working days has passed (according to Royal Mail procedure). Once the 15 working days have passed we will be able to issue a full refund or resend your order.

The lighter and stiffer Powerline™ carbon sole is new and brought to you by the same team that developed Rider-First Engineering. Why's this special? Because it led to our lightest and stiffest carbon outsole to date. A completely refined Padlock™ Heel, meanwhile, packs in more comfort with the same exceptional heel hold that you found in the previous iteration. And finally, the space-grade Dyneema™ material used in the upper doesn’t stretch when pulled on, making sure that your foot stays where it’s supposed to. With these all features combined, you can be sure that we’ve kept in line with the motto “every watt is sacred.”

In the comfort arena, we kept all of the Body Geometry features you know and love, like the Longitudinal Arch, Varus Wedge, and Metatarsal Button. Each one of these features have been ergonomically designed and scientifically tested to not only boost power, but also to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of injury. We also took luxury into account by designing the S-Works 7 to have form that complements its function, so you'll find seams that are bonded together, rather than sewn, cleaning up the lines and contouring to your foot with slipper-like comfort.     The S-Works 7 is the seventh iteration of Specialized’s top-end shoe and follows the S-Works 6 (no surprises there). Specialized has stepped things up a notch with the 7, said to be stiffer and more comfortable than its predecessor, but how so? First up, stiffness. Specialized has redesigned the carbon fibre sole through pressure mapping and Finite Element Analysis to reduce the amount of carbon in those areas where it’s not needed, and redistributing it to those areas that take a pounding when stamping on the pedals. Take a look at the sole and it’s significantly more sculpted than the S-Works 6, particularly around the outside of the foot.

    The result is increased stiffness for the same weight, with the sole jumping from 13 to 15 on Specialized’s own ‘Stiffness Index’. Now, that’s a pretty arbitrary number given each brand has its own way of measuring stiffness, but it does provide some context within Specialized’s range. In truth, any improvement in stiffness will likely to be difficult to feel but, more significantly, Specialized says the new design relieves hot spots by better managing pressure through the sole. Claimed weight, by the way, is 224g per size 42 shoe – exactly the same as the S-Works 6. While we’re talking about the sole, the cleat drillings are roughly 5mm further back than on the S-Works 6.

    As for comfort, the S-Works 7 is designed to have a more forgiving fit than the outgoing 6, with a roomier toe box. The injection-moulded heel cup remains but the cuff is a little more relaxed than before, in response to feedback from some riders that the previous design put too much pressure on the Achilles. The material inside the cuff has also been changed to the same synthetic leather as the S-Works mountain bike shoe, said to be less grippy than previously.

    Specialized has also tweaked the Dyneema fabric used on the upper. Previously, there was very little – if any – stretch to the upper, whereas the Dyneema has now been combined with TPU to create what Specialized calls a ‘flexible, sock-like and durable’ design. These updates – the relaxed cuff and updated fabrics – intend to provide a more comfortable experience, while still offering the ‘locked in’ feel of the S-Works 6.

    We still haven’t mentioned the most obvious update to the S-Works 7, either: the new Boa S3 dials. This is a proprietary design unique to Specialized, with an oversized and in-line CNC-machined aluminium dial, said to be more robust than previous Boa dials thanks to improved internal sealing. It’s also easier to use as a result of the grippy, laser-etched design. You still get the same 1mm micro-adjustability, whether tightening or loosening the wire lace, and the Boa dials are replaceable, as before. The dials are now thermo-bonded to the shoe, removing any stitching, while the tongue is significantly more padded than the S-Works 6.

    As we previously suspected following the Tour Down Under, Specialized is releasing some brand new Specialized S-Works 7 shoes. We were lucky enough to get invited to Specialized HQ and even get our mitts on a pair of both the new products prior to the launch, so here’s whats new.

    The S-Works 7 cycling shoe doesn’t look radically different to the S-Works 6, a favourite of ours, and there’s a lot of tried and tested technology that remains in place, supported with just a few tweaks. We’ll start at the sole, which is of course, still carbon but is also now the stiffest sole Specialized has ever made. The company now scores it a 15 on its stiffness index, and while there is no industry wide scale for measuring stiffness, they do feel very rigid underfoot.

    Interestingly, Specialized hasn’t done anything to reduce the weight of the shoe. Instead it has used its ‘Powerline’ technology to increase stiffness on the inside of each foot – the area where maximum power is transferred – by cutting away sections of the sole from the outside and redistributing that material. Specialized has also retained its padlock heel, although following feedback it has now added a level of cushioning to stop the shoes pinching and rubbing just below the ankle. Comfort should also be increased at the front end, thanks to the forefoot being widened by 1.5mm, adding more wiggle room for your toes.

    Specialized has doubled down on its focus on fit, and will supply the shoes with one of three footbed styles to match your arches. Additionally, you can also get special custom footbeds made up using Retül, Specialized’s fitting technology. Support is also increased along the longitudinal arch of your foot and there’s the addition of a metatarsal button that the brand hopes will minimise numbness from the increased stiffness of the sole. Dyneema Mesh, while previously a favourite of NASA, is now used by Specialized in the creation of its uppers. Its main selling point is the fact its ultra thin yet able to retain its structure and stiffness.

    As if space shoes weren’t exciting enough, Specialized and Boa has worked in partnership on a new proprietary S3 Boa Dial, which looks as equally space age. It’s got a silver finish, and while we haven’t seen the internals, the action is seriously exact. Plus, the Boa sits flush to the shoe so the dials shouldn’t cause any discomfort. Similarly, Spesh has added a bit thickness to the tongue to prevent the cables pinching the top of the foot.
