Struggling for guidance on how to accurately measure your child for their new bike? This sizing guide has you covered. Wild bikes are a great choice for kids. With their bright colours and features, they make an excellent first bike, or their other options suit more adventurous riding for kids growing up!

With different sizes to choose from, it can sometimes get confusing which fit is actually best for your little one, so let’s break it down, and get your child ready for whatever riding adventure awaits.

How To Size a Child

The easiest way to figure out which bike size suits your child best is to measure their height. Measuring their inseam also tells you if your child will be able to stand over the toptube of the bike comfortably.

Use the chart to select the correct bike size. The bikes are suitable for children aged between 3 and 11 years old.

Height: Stand your child with their back flat against a wall, and measure from the floor up to the top of their head.

Inseam: Get your child to hold a book between their legs as far up as it will go. Then measure from the ground to the top of the book.

Sizing Specifications

Standover: This is the distance between the ground and the toptube. Your child should be able to comfortably stand over the bike in this position. The standover measurement should be around 1-2cm shorter than your child’s inseam.

Pedal: This shows the distance between the saddle at it’s lowest position and the pedal at it’s lowest position. This should be shorter than your child’s inseam.

Saddle: This shows the distance between the ground and the saddle when it’s in it’s lowest position. They don’t have to be able to stand flat on the ground when they are on the saddle, but it could help with confidence when transitioning between a balance and pedal bike.

Use this table to check if your child will be able to reach the pedals when sat on the saddle, and once they are all measured, they will be ready to take on any wild adventure!
