This Father’s Day we’re celebrating Dads that Shred!
To succeed in professional mountain biking, you need skill, courage & passion. For some of the sport’s top riders, these attributes extend beyond the trails and into their daily roles as dads.
Below we have a collection of our top 5 videos featuring our favourite Dads that Shred.
From Brendog to Macaskill, we’re showcasing the best clips from five extraordinary dads who shred the trails whilst also balancing the demands of parenthood.
Brendan Fairclough & Josh Bryceland
Our first entry might be cheating a little bit as we’ve included two Dads that Shred, but this clip of Brendan Fairclough (@brendog1) & Josh Bryceland (@ratty_bryce) tearing up Schladming, Austria was too good not to share!
Widely accepted as the best UCI Mountain Bike World Cup track in recent history, Brendog & Ratboy don’t hold back and put the ‘Best Track Ever’ through its paces.
Cam Zink
After a long career, Cam Zink (@camzink) decides to hang up his helmet in Maui. In this video, Cam backflips over his kids and then promptly ruins a game of golf… what more could you want?
“If this is what it’s like being ‘washed up’, count us in.“
Steve Peat
Professional downhill rider, cleaning products entrepreneur, and now gangster? Steve Peat (@stevepeat) features in this gangland-inspired video narrated by the infamous Alan Ford (from ‘Snatch’ and ‘Lock, Stock‘ fame).
“Steel City Media and Creative Concept bring you the much anticipated new feature film ‘GAMBLE’, priding itself on bringing some of Downhill Mountain Biking’s most talented and charismatic riders together, outside of the tape, on tracks tailored for madness.“
Kirt Voreis
The title says it all: the only danger to Kirt Voreis is… Kirt Voreis (@kirtvoreis_allride).
Admittedly putting “safety third” when it comes to nailing the perfect trick, Kirt shreds Whistler Bike Park but his ride is unfortunately cut short.
Danny MacAskill
The legendary Danny MacAskill (@danny_macaskill) needs no introduction. Well known for his insane street trails videos, you may not be aware that he’s also a dad who shreds!
Whilst Danny’s skills on the bike are unquestioned, his parenting skills do come into question as he hits a backflip with the child trailer still attached.
