About Team Chronomaster

Team Chronomaster was founded by the owner of Chronomaster watches, Neil Wood, and is still run by himself to this day. The team was originally assembled by one of Neil’s cycling friends, Craig Battersby, after approaching Neil back in 2014 as they were looking for a new lead sponsor for their road cycling team; and Team Chronomaster was born.

The team sponsorship is also our contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility, where we are putting back into, and contributing to the local community. We are supporting a local amateur sports team. The development and growth of such teams promotes healthy activities and lifestyles and encourages more and more young people to become actively involved in a healthy, social and exhilarating pastime. This is in line with the government’s heavily promoted cycling initiative, and also complies with the green agenda.

Team Chronomaster – 2017 Plans

Team Chronomaster have a busy year ahead of them and we will be keeping you up to date with all of their rides, events and races. If you are joining us for our 2017 road demo day you will also get to meet the team as they will be leading our rides throughout the day on the different bikes.

The team have always supported local charities and this year things will be no different; they will be taking on a ride from Geneva to the Dolomites to raise money for Bolton Lads and Girls Club (in 2015 the team raised £35,000 for the club). This a local charity run recreational youth centre offering performing arts and sporting activities to mainly under privileged children. Not only that, they will be doing two separate rides in the Alps to raise money for Blackburn Youth Zone (BYZ).

These rides take a lot of training and the team also help over 30 cyclists with their training over a 9 month period so we will be brining you tips and tricks about ride training to get you ready for your own challenges.

As the team now has 6 riders in total including some from Lancashire Road Club and Weaver Valley Club, our main focus is to compete in North West road racing with the target of becoming the #1 North West team. We are looking at expanding the team to allow us to race in individual and team time trials in the Manchester and North regions.

We are all delighted with the formation of the new local racing team and feel that the previous success of the riders will help us to progress Team Chronomaster through the ranks. It is very true with the old adage that “success breeds success”.  So with the renewed team confidence as Team Chronomaster, and the cycle team battling it out with attacking, aggressive racing, we believe that this year is going to be a very productive year for all concerned.
