It’s been hard to keep this one quiet for the past couple of weeks but Specialized swore us to secrecy and we kept our word.

But it’s finally here; today is the day that we can now reveal the NEW 2019 Specialized Stumpjumper and we have a load of these making their way across the country to 8 of our stores RIGHT NOW!

Introducing the ultimate trail bike

2019 Specialized Stumpjumper Features

The new Stumpjumper is the ultimate trail bike. Seriously, the damn thing rides like it’s on rails. It’s the most versatile trail bike we’ve ever made.
And yeah, we’re stoked about that, but we’re even more excited about how well it’s tuned to you. We’ve said goodbye to proprietary bullshit, focused on your needs, and made, what we feel, is the new benchmark in trail bikes.

  • New frameset - 20% lighter (S / M) & 20% stiffer (L / XL)
  • Major focus on stiffness and increased rider performance after 2 years of R&D, testing and rider feedback
  • Rear end 100g lighter (all sizes)
  • Sidearm design stiffens front triangle and elevates shock deflection under load
  • Improved shock performance - smoother, more useable travel
  • Each model and wheel size has a custom RX tune
  • Metric shock sizing, no autosag  means more compatibility
  • Geometry changes include an increased reach, lower stack height, longer wheelbase and a half degree slacker head angle
  • ST (Short-Travel) models have a slightly steeper geometry and come with less-travel (120mm rear), creating a more nimble and snappy ride
  • Flip chip offering geometry adjustment - lower BB, slacker HA, shorter reach
  • Threaded BB
  • Improved cable routing
  • New chainstay protector offering virtually smooth, quiet ride
  • SWAT storage 20% increased

All-New Sidearm Frame

Specialized have gone above and beyond to lighten and stiffen up the frame which resulted in a vastly more efficient structure thanks to the new sidearm design. The sidearm design directly connects all three mounting points of the rear-end and shock to the frame, and this creates a significant increase in both stiffness and performance over bumps.

The new 2019 Stumpjumper is now one of the lightest trail frames on the market; Specialized have minimised the frame flex when the rear suspension is active and by using CAD they put the new 3D shape against the last iteration of the Stumpjumper. With Finite Element Analysis (FEA), they were able to prove that the new layout was 20% more efficient.

Flip Clip

You can “flip the clip” on the all new Stumpy between two settings, High and Low, which you changes the bottom bracket height by 6mm and the head tube angle by half-a-degree. You can now change the frame geometry with ease to support your riding style.

Ultimate Adjustability

This is the best mountain bike we've ever made when it comes to customising it however you want.

All of the configurations on the 2019 Stumpjumper use standard stroke and eye-to-eye metric shocks, so you won't find Shock Block anywhere! If you want to swap shocks then you won't have any problems. Specialized have also switched out the PF30 bottom bracket of previous models in favour of a threaded BB system.

Both 27.5 and 29 frames can now fit up to 3.0" tyres too – just check with your fork manufacturer to make sure a high-volume tire can fit, but this should be music to everyone's ears.

Quieter Drivetrains Await

The new chainstay protector makes the drivetrain virtually silent, and it pretty much makes chain slap a thing of the past, too! The nubs on this protector disrupt the slap of the chain and this reduces the overall movement and sound of the chain.

Swat Down Tube Storage

The SWAT™ Down Tube Storage takes all the features from the last generation but it’s sleeker and lighter, while also adding 20% more volume.

Women’s RX Tune

Specialized are confident that female riders won’t get a better tune than what’s on offer with the Women’s specific RX tube. Female riders are typically lighter, so Specialized make adjustments for volume, compression, and rebound accordingly for every frame and wheel size. The goal is for the rear shock and fork to perform the same as with our men’s Rx Tune at lower pressures.
