What Is The Mojo/Nicolai GeoMetron?

The Mojo/Nicolai GeoMetron was created by Chris Porter, director of MOJO suspension, who wanted to design a bike that took a longer and slacker geometry to the extreme. After years of testing and working with Nicolai to get the geometry spot on, the GeoMetron was born…

GeoMetron Geometry

Mojo decided on a 62-63.5° head angle to handle well at speed and in the difficult situations and to make sure it’s fast over the bumps the Bottom Bracket was lowered to a crazy 340mm approx. This was as low as they could get it wilst still getting the weight right on the cranks swinging under the front axle and not driving the front axle into the bump face.

They also tailored the anti-squat to be just right when you are in the gears used for technical climbs meaning he anti-squat falls away reducing the feeling of ‘hang-up’ on the bump edge as you shift into higher gears. To achieve this they needed to specify a higher main pivot in the first instance to allow a range of 30T, 32T or 34Tchainrings and an individual ride height depending on the riding focus.

The GeoMetron also boasts a steeper than normal 77° seat angle which gives the rider a better drive over the cranks when climbing. This leaves enough room in cockpit to allow for a comfortable saddle position, gaining a more direct drive over the cranks without sliding the saddle back or using a long stem. The linkage progression has also been tailored to suit a modern air shock and a more dynamic, modern riding style.

What are people saying about the Mojo/Nicolai GeoMetron?

“The Geometron is like heavyweight boxer Muhammad Ali, its big, heavy and intimidating, but fast as hell. On paper, ‘convention’ would say that it simply shouldn’t work, too long, too slack – but the Geometron floats like a butterfly.” EnduroMag – First Look

“This in one of the most exciting bikes to date as if Chris Porter is doing it right, then everyone else is doing it wrong!” EnduroMag – First Look

“I remember saying to a friend in 2007, “why doesn’t somebody just make a six-inch travel trail bike with downhill geometry, that you could pedal up the hill?” Eight years later and this is what we have! The GeoMetron is the ideal machine for people who want to get to the top in their own time, then challenge the downhillers’ on the way back down.” Pinkbike – First Ride
