2017 Specialized Enduro–The Inside Line

The new 2017 Specialized Enduro Mountain Bikes have already become the benchmark Enduro bike and they get a refresh for 2017 making them one of our favourite enduro bikes of choice. The new frame has been built from the ground up with a 650b and 29er/650b+ option, an updated head tube that’s shorter and slacker and super short chain stays that makes no-holds barred riding attainable.

All the 2017 Specialized Enduro Carbon models now come with SWAT technology allowing you to carry trail essentials inside the frame. The forks on all the Specialized Enduro models now use 110mm fork spacing and 148mm rear end spacing to allow for any wheel size of your choice.

2017 Specialized Enduro Handling

  • Geometry – built from the ground up in a 650b chassis as well as a unique 29/6Fattie chassis
  • Slack head tube angle @ 65.5° & 6.60°
  • Short chainstays @ 425mm & 435mm
  • Low bottom bracket heights with multiple tire size offerings
  • 650b: 345mm with 650x2.3” & 350mm with 650x2.6” tyres
  • 29/6Fattie 352mm with 29x2.3”, 345mm with 650x3.0”, & 339mm with 650x2.8”
  • All rear shocks are Rx All-Mountain tuned by our suspension team with the venerable Öhlins STX 22 on the S-Works & Pro models. The S-Works 29/6Fattie receives the Öhlins RXF 36 fork, sweet!!


2017 Specialized Enduro Utility

  • FACT carbon chassis are built from the beginning with storage in mind.
  • On the downtube a SWAT door unhinges from the frame revealing a storage compartment inside the frame while the SWAT wraps keep tubes, pumps, CO2 cartridges in place and rattle-free.
  • Molded carbon tubes protect your housing so there is no tangling with stored items.


2017 Specialized Enduro – Robust Construction

  • Updated X-Wing design with increased rear travel: 170mm on 650b, 165mm on 29/6Fattie
  • All bottom brackets are threaded 73mm BB shells. Easy to find, no funny sizes.
  • All FSR linkage bearings are the same size. All of them. Easy to find and replace.
  • All FSR linkage bearings are injected with grease from both sides for a better fill percentage to maintain bearing integrity longer.
  • Internal cable routing exits the down tube above the BB & runs across the main bearing, no more “lazy loop.”
  • All models use 110mm spacing forks, 148mm spacing rear ends, and GRID casing tyres.


2017 Specialized Enduro – Other Cool Details

There is so much cool stuff to talk about and we love details, so here they are:

  • The S-Works and Pro models have full FACT 11m carbon frames. Elite Carbon is a carbon front chassis.
  • Every model comes with 1x gearing, 780mm handlebars, & a Command Post IRcc. Every model.
  • Every model comes with full internal routing and SRAM Guide brakes.
  • 30mm Traverse rims across the line. Elite Carbon & up come with hand-built Roval Traverse wheels.


2017 Specialized Enduro 6fattie

We believe in the 650x3.0” 6Fattie system. Big time. These tires give you MORE traction and floatation for MORE control and speed which gives you MORE fun. We also believe in Simplify and Go. The new 29/6Fattie models come spec’d with 29” wheels and are built to swap the 6Fattie system straight in.

  • 29/6Fattie option at every price point, now with full carbon rear ends on the S-Works & Pro.
  • New 650x2.8” options in Butcher & Slaughter.
  • Same wheel spec as Stumpjumper FSR to make swapping on the floor a breeze.

Remember, there is no right wheel size, just the best option for the rider
