The Cube AMS 150 Super HPC SL is an all mountain bike designed to be lots of fun on all mountain tracks whilst performing like a marathon racer. It's an extremely light bike weighing only 1.95kg without shock! It features a Super HPC Advanced Twin Mould carbon fibre four bar frame that has been constructed through a process that eliminates any dangerous folding by continuous control of carbon fibres during the curing process.
This Cube bike is designed for any ambitious mountain bikers looking to test themselves and push their limits as it features an adjustable seatpost as well as some very powerful hydraulic disc brakes by Formula to enable you to conquer any trail. It also has an extremely stiff one-piece carbon monocoque ERC rocker which allows you to have 150mm of fully active travel, no matter what frame size you've got.
This bike is a part of the AMS Range from Cube and comes with their exclusive Size Tuned Kinematics, a four-point suspension system which guarantees that every frame in every size will have exactly the same dynamic properties in terms of wheel travel, axle path and spring rate curve. Cube have also invested time and particular attention has been aimed at ensuring every rider can have the optimal and identical riding experience thanks to their Efficient Ride control.
The AMS 150 Super HPC SL is packed full of high-quality components that will ensure you get the maximum performance from your bike. It features some very powerful Formula The ONE hydraulic disc brakes that are perfect for maximum control in the roughest terrains. It features an adjustable Crank Brothers Kronolog seatpost that comes with a remote to make you ready for anything a trail throws at you and allows you to deal with it in comfort.
This fantastic Full Suspension AM Mountain Bike comes equipped with an adjustable Fox 32 CTD air fork that offers 100-150mm of travel and switchable trail modes. It also features a Fox Float CTD BoostValve rear shock that features Cube's Custom Setup, so you can adjust your ride to suit your specific needs. The Fox suspension will ensure that any ride is guaranteed to be comfortable and it will make any climbs and descents a lot more enjoyable.
Features
Advanced Twin Mould: The Advanced Twin Mould process eliminates any dangerous folding by continuous control of carbon fibres during the curing process. This is made possible by an internal form which provides the perfect frame form during the layup process. Each individual fibre remains precisely in position as it cures. In this way less material can be used as the individual layers can be more accurately and reliably positioned. This production method also makes it possible to increase the carbon fibre proportion in line with anticipated loadings at specific points on the frame. In 2013 all SUPER HPC models will be manufactured using this high-tech method.
Size Tuned Kinematic: Size Tuned Kinematics is a four-pivot suspension technology developed exclusively by CUBE. It guarantees that every frame in every size will have exactly the same dynamic properties in terms of wheel travel, axle path and spring rate curve.
Efficient Ride Control: A very well received development which is used in all AMS models including the all-new AMS 100 Super HPC 29. With Efficient Ride Control particular attention has been given to the fact that irrespective of body size EVERY rider can have the optimum and identical riding experience. Here on a model-by-model basis we have differently designed the linkage geometry so that all frame sizes have the same travel and spring rate curves (STK). In addition the kinematics have been optimised specifically to travel in respect of sensitivity, drive and no bobbing. For this it was necessary to specially position all rear pivot points. Whether the rider is large or small, with any of these models he will always have the optimum ride experience.
Fox Customised Setup: Sophisticated suspension kinematics are only able to work correctly if the associated shock is properly tuned. We researched and found a specific shock setup in cooperation with Fox Racing Shox, using extensive testing for almost every CUBE full-suspension model.
FSP 4-Link: The key requirement is for continuously active and fully usable travel, with the rear triangle unaffected by pedalling or especially braking forces. There are a number of ways of achieving this – CUBE favours a four pivot chainstay construction. Here, one of the pivots is located between the dropout and the chainstay, ensuring that braking does not have a negative effect on the movement of the rear wheel. By carefully positioning the remaining pivots, we obtain the finest riding qualities for our full suspension bikes both uphill and downhill. This fact is proven by many top test results in leading magazines over the last few years.
Integrated Post Mount: The postmount system is found at all carbon fibre frames, the high end models of the touring bikes and the upper range aluminium models. The bolts and the IS adapter aren’t needed anymore, less parts mean less weight. In this case we save 30 grams. This may not sound a lot. But as you see, there is potential to save weight in every detail.
Press Fit BB: With press-fit bearings, the bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into the frame and not screwed in as usual. This gives a wider bottom bracket shell and allows to build a wider down tube and more broadly-spaced chainstays. Every millimetre of additional width gives a significant improvement in lateral stiffness.
X12 Thru Axle: In this system, a cone is used to form a play-free connection. It is only necessary to tighten the axle from one side. The position of the wheel is done by an insert in the right-hand dropout which is secured by a bolt. The main advantages of the Syntace system are quick and simple changing of the wheel, reliable position of the brake disc and higher stiffness of the rear of the bike. This allows the assembly to be made lighter than a conventional through-axle.
Wet Paint Surface: On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.
Tapered Steerer: This new steerer tube design is stiffer than a conventional straight steerer and generates a more secure ride feel even in difficult terrain. Minimal flex at the front of the frame means that the greatest possible steering precision is generated. With the larger steerer the forks become more rigid. At the same time weight is saved due to the absence of bearing shells as the lower bearing is fully integrated into the head tube. On all of our CUBE carbon models the upper bearing shells are also directly in the frame, so that once more a few grams are saved and the energy transfer is very direct.
Integrated Cable Routing: Internally routed cables offer many advantages. Cables are protected from dirt for longer life, weight is saved thanks to the absence of external housing and the bike has a clean, sleek appearance.
