The Cube AMS 150 Super HPC Race is designed for any rider wanting an extremely lightweight all mountain bike to tackle tough terrain, steep climbs, and steeper descents. It features a Super HPC Monocoque Advanced Twin Mould Technology Carbon frame that is lightweight, stiff, and extremely high quality. It is created by using a high-tech process that eliminates any dangerous folding by continuous control of carbon fibres during the curing process.
This Full Suspension AM Mountain Bike is perfect for any biker that wants to raise their game and upgrade to a machine that enables them to push themselves and their limits further than ever before. It offers more than enough travel with 150mm and a record breaking frame weight and Cube's HPC chassis works flawlessly and along with the supplied components create a bike that is pure fun for endless trails.
Its extremely lightweight carbon four bar frame is built with Super HPC Advanced Twin Mould Monocoque technology gives the frame maximum stiffness and quality. This high-tech process eliminates any dangerous folding by continuous control of carbon fibres during the curing process. It also creates a frame with an almost-unbelievable weight of 1.95kg (excluding rear shock).
This bike is a part of the AMS Range from Cube and comes with their exclusive Size Tuned Kinematics, a four-point suspension system which guarantees that every frame in every size will have exactly the same dynamic properties in terms of wheel travel, axle path and spring rate curve. Cube have also invested time and particular attention has been aimed at ensuring every rider can have the optimal and identical riding experience thanks to their Efficient Ride control.
This Cube Bike has great suspension that combines the RockShox Revelation RL two position (120-150mm) air fork with the Cube custom setup FOX Float CTD BoostValve shock to create an extremely comfortable ride whatever terrain you're on. It also features Magura MTC hydraulic disc brakes, a necessity for anyone that needs a powerful brake with good modulation to give you complete control in any situation.
Features
Advanced Twin Mould: The Advanced Twin Mould process eliminates any dangerous folding by continuous control of carbon fibres during the curing process. This is made possible by an internal form which provides the perfect frame form during the layup process. Each individual fibre remains precisely in position as it cures. In this way less material can be used as the individual layers can be more accurately and reliably positioned. This production method also makes it possible to increase the carbon fibre proportion in line with anticipated loadings at specific points on the frame. In 2013 all SUPER HPC models will be manufactured using this high-tech method.
Size Tuned Kinematic: Size Tuned Kinematics is a four-pivot suspension technology developed exclusively by CUBE. It guarantees that every frame in every size will have exactly the same dynamic properties in terms of wheel travel, axle path and spring rate curve.
Efficient Ride Control: A very well received development which is used in all AMS models including the all-new AMS 100 Super HPC 29. With Efficient Ride Control particular attention has been given to the fact that irrespective of body size EVERY rider can have the optimum and identical riding experience. Here on a model-by-model basis we have differently designed the linkage geometry so that all frame sizes have the same travel and spring rate curves (STK). In addition the kinematics have been optimised specifically to travel in respect of sensitivity, drive and no bobbing. For this it was necessary to specially position all rear pivot points. Whether the rider is large or small, with any of these models he will always have the optimum ride experience.
Fox Customised Setup: Sophisticated suspension kinematics are only able to work correctly if the associated shock is properly tuned. We researched and found a specific shock setup in cooperation with Fox Racing Shox, using extensive testing for almost every CUBE full-suspension model.
FSP 4-Link: The key requirement is for continuously active and fully usable travel, with the rear triangle unaffected by pedalling or especially braking forces. There are a number of ways of achieving this – CUBE favours a four pivot chainstay construction. Here, one of the pivots is located between the dropout and the chainstay, ensuring that braking does not have a negative effect on the movement of the rear wheel. By carefully positioning the remaining pivots, we obtain the finest riding qualities for our full suspension bikes both uphill and downhill. This fact is proven by many top test results in leading magazines over the last few years.
Integrated Post Mount: The postmount system is found at all carbon fibre frames, the high end models of the touring bikes and the upper range aluminium models. The bolts and the IS adapter aren’t needed anymore, less parts mean less weight. In this case we save 30 grams. This may not sound a lot. But as you see, there is potential to save weight in every detail.
Press Fit Bb: With press-fit bearings, the bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into the frame and not screwed in as usual. This gives a wider bottom bracket shell and allows to build a wider down tube and more broadly-spaced chainstays. Every millimetre of additional width gives a significant improvement in lateral stiffness.
X12 Thru Axle: In this system, a cone is used to form a play-free connection. It is only necessary to tighten the axle from one side. The position of the wheel is done by an insert in the right-hand dropout which is secured by a bolt. The main advantages of the Syntace system are quick and simple changing of the wheel, reliable position of the brake disc and higher stiffness of the rear of the bike. This allows the assembly to be made lighter than a conventional through-axle.
Wet Paint Surface: On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.
Tapered Steerer: This new steerer tube design is stiffer than a conventional straight steerer and generates a more secure ride feel even in difficult terrain. Minimal flex at the front of the frame means that the greatest possible steering precision is generated. With the larger steerer the forks become more rigid. At the same time weight is saved due to the absence of bearing shells as the lower bearing is fully integrated into the head tube. On all of our CUBE carbon models the upper bearing shells are also directly in the frame, so that once more a few grams are saved and the energy transfer is very direct.
Integrated Cable Routing: Internally routed cables offer many advantages. Cables are protected from dirt for longer life, weight is saved thanks to the absence of external housing and the bike has a clean, sleek appearance.
