The all-new Fate Expert Carbon 29 features women's performance XC 29er geometry and is equipped with an 80mm-travel RockShox SID Brain fork and Avid X0 World Cup brakes for premium cross country performance.

Naturally competitive, whether against herself on the toughest climb of her favorite trail or a field of competitors in an endurance event, the Fate hardtail 29er rider demands the premium performance only the world’s first women’s carbon hardtail 29er can deliver. She is aware of new technologies and trends in mountain biking, and wants a fast-handling, lightweight and compliant bike for ripping singletrack trails and fire roads.

This Specialized womens hardtail mountain bike uses a FACT IS 8m carbon frame, with womens performance XC 29er geometry and a carbon lay-up for a great fit and outstanding stiffness-to-weight for ultra quick performance, the frame is engineered with a tapered headtube and internal cable routing. 

This Specialized Fate 29er boasts a RockShox SID 29 Brian fork with 80mm of travel with the new Solo air spring, Brian Fade and rebound adjustment to provide supreme versatility and premium cross country suspension performance no matter what terrain you’re riding on. The Specialized Fate also has a double butted, flat XC handlebar which has been specifically designed and engineered to make navigating singletrack a breeze! 

SRAM componentry features throughout the impressive spec of this Specialized 29er hardtail bike with a custom SRAM S2200 carbon double XC crankset, with 36/22 gearing this component is built for strong, yet lightweight performance to help you out on those difficult trail rides. Teamed up with the new SRAM Type 2 X0 mid cage 10-speed rear derailleur, plus the Custom Avid X0 World Cup brakes, you are given a winning combination of crisp, smooth and reliable gear changes! These Custom Avid X0 World Cup hydraulic brakes have a tool-less reach adjust plus alloy-backed, semi-metallic pads for sure-fire stopping and precise modulation. 

This Specialized hardtail mountain bike boasts Roval Control 29 alloy disc rims which have been redesigned for increased stiffness, they are lightweight and yet durable enough to handle the rough stuff in their stride and give the rider more control to power over demanding terrain; whilst the Fast Trak Control tyres are light and efficient with incredible tread for muddy trails. The S-Works Fast Trak front tyre features dual compound rubber, delivering you exceptional speed and traction whilst minimising rotating weight. These tyres are 2Bliss Ready with aramid bead for fast and predictable speed and control whilst riding on the trail; because these wheels are bigger and wider they have faster-rolling capabilities and are less likely to be affected by any holes or bulges in the ground giving you a smoother ride.

The right size bike for your body size is essential to ensure the optimum experience, comfort and enjoyment as you ride. With sizing varying between the type of bike, the brand and even the model, getting the perfect fit can seem daunting. That’s why we’ve compiled a handy guide to help you get the correct size.

Measure Your Height

Our handy size charts match your height to the appropriate frame size so you need to be sure you’ve measured your height accurately.

  1. Take off your shoes and stand with your back against a wall.
  2. Make sure legs are together and your shoulders are back.
  3. Place a pencil on top of your head and mark the wall (the best and easiest way to do this properly is with a friend to help you).
  4. Measure from the floor to the pencil mark you have just made with a tape measure.

Range of Reach

For most people to get the right frame size, measuring your height will suffice. However, you may find that your height is on the borderline of the range we suggest for a particular frame. If this occurs you need to measure the range of your reach or “Ape Index”. This will ensure you get a comfortable distance between the handlebars and your saddle.

  1. Stand up straight with your back against a wall.
  2. Life your arms out horizontally either side of you.
  3. Measure the distance from fingertip of one hand to fingertip of the other. This will give you your arm span.
  4. Subtract your height from this figure to get your Ape Index.
  5. If the result is positive (your arm span is greater than your height) you should go for the larger size of bike.
  6. If the result is negative (your arm span is less than your height you need the smaller size.

Stand Over Height

You should also consider your inside leg measurement when choosing your bike to ensure adequate stand over height. Stand over height is the clearance between the top tube and the bottom of your crotch. For mountain bikes we recommend a distance of 2-4 inches and for road or hybrid bikes 1-2 inches of clearance is required. This will ensure comfort when you’re stopped and standing astride the bike.

Our bike sizing charts take stand over height into consideration but if you have a particularly long or short inside leg measurement in relation to your height you will need to bear this in mind when selecting your frame size.

Riding Style

The way you ride and the type of bike you are into will also impact the frame size you should choose. For example, a trail devotee looking for an aggressive ride may prefer a smaller, more manoeuvrable bike size. It all comes down to personal preference and how the bike feels to you.

Remember, the sizes given in our guides are suggestions and should be used for general advice only. We offer FREE UK Delivery on all orders excluding bikes. There is no minimum order spend required and free delivery is available on all clothing, parts, accessories, trailers, stands etc. when shipping inside the UK.

Please note some brands are not available for mail order and can only be purchased online using the Ship to Store service (see below). These brands are: Trek, Marin, Whyte, Focus, Brompton, Wilier.

How to Ship to Store

When you place an order online, go through the checkout process and select the store you wish your items to be shipped to. We will then call you to arrange a date for you to collect your items at your chosen Leisure Lakes Bike Store, FREE of charge.

International Delivery Information

Some countries may charge you import tax for certain items. If you have any queries regarding this then please contact your local tax office who should be able to assist you further. Unfortunately Leisure Lakes Bikes cannot advise on import tax and duty enquiries and we cannot take responsibility for any customs or duty charges which may arise from importing any of our products into your country.

All European and international deliveries are sent by UPS standard delivery. You will be emailed a tracking reference when we despatch your order so you can track your delivery as it makes it’s way to you.
