Description

The Cube Elite Super HPC Hardtail Mountain Bike 2013 is a lightweight carbon hardtail ideal for professional racers and enthusiasts!

Spread The Word

Lightweight carbon fibre hardtail for professional racers and enthusiasts. Our Double Flex Stay construction deliversmaximum lateral stiffness with reduced weight. The Super HPC frame is made using Advanced Twin Mold Monocoque technology. RFR geometry results in a sporty riding position for maximum traction and agile manoeuvres. The disc-only frame saves weight through the direct post mount brake mount. Internal Cable Routing gives weight reduction, a clean appearance and dirt protection. Optimum strength to weight value results from the tapered head tube with integrated headset. Through Active Brake Cooling, a wing-like support stay for the brake, airflow is directed towards the brake disc. The sophisticated 100mm Fox 32 Float CTD Adjust FIT comes with Kashima coating and delivers maximum control and fun on the trail. The Shimano XT K-M7851 disc brakes are known for outstanding brake performance. The DT Swiss CSW MA 2.0 straight pull wheelset is especially light and stiff for fast acceleration. The wheels are fitted with Schwalbe Rocket Ron/Racing Ralph Kevlar folding tires, very lightweight with low rolling resistance and optimum traction.

Features

Advanced Twin MouldThe Advanced Twin Mould process eliminates any dangerous folding by continuous control of carbon fibres during the curing process. This is made possible by an internal form which provides the perfect frame form during the layup process. Each individual fibre remains precisely in position as it cures. In this way less material can be used as the individual layers can be more accurately and reliably positioned. This production method also makes it possible to increase the carbon fibre proportion in line with anticipated loadings at specific points on the frame. In 2013 all SUPER HPC models will be manufactured using this high-tech method

Integrated Cable RoutingInternally routed cables offer many advantages. Cables are protected from dirt for longer life, weight is saved thanks to the absence of external housing and the bike has a clean, sleek appearance.

Tapered SteererThis new steerer tube design is stiffer than a conventional straight steerer and generates a more secure ride feel even in difficult terrain. Minimal flex at the front of the frame means that the greatest possible steering precision is generated. With the larger steerer the forks become more rigid. At the same time weight is saved due to the absence of bearing shells as the lower bearing is fully integrated into the head tube. On all of our CUBE carbon models the upper bearing shells are also directly in the frame, so that once more a few grams are saved and the energy transfer is very direct.

Integrated Post MountThe postmount system is found at all carbon fiber frames, the high end models of the touring bikes and the upper range aluminum models. The bolts and the IS adpater aren’t needed anymore, less parts mean less weight. In this case we save 30 grams. This may not sound a lot. But as you see, there is potential to save weigth in every detail.

Press Fit BBWith press-fit bearings, the bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into the frame and not screwed in as usual. This gives a wider bottom bracket shell and allows to build a wider down tube and more broadly-spaced chainstays. Every millimetre of additional width gives a significant improvement in lateral stiffness.

Double Flex StaysOur new ELITE SUPER HPC is not only designed for maximum rigidity but also offers plentiful comfort. This comfort is achieved by the novel Double Flex Stays. Forces from the ground coming up the seat stays are diverted via two flat carbon plates to the seat tube. These plates feature a special composite layup, allowing them to act like shock absorbers in the vertical direction while remaining extremely rigid in the horizontal and lateral direction.

Active Brake CoolingOur high end hardtails like the REACTION GTC 29, ELITE SUPER HPC 29 and ELITE SUPER HPC are dedicated racing bikes. For optimum braking performance the Active Brake Cooling system supports the rider on the course. The aerodynamically designed stays cause airflow to be ducted between the seat and chainstay onto the brake disc. This delivers heat reduction of up to 30%, protecting the brake from overheating and conserving the brake pads. The result is always maximum brake performance

Wet Paint SurfaceOn polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.

Frame Safe SystemTo protect our high-end aluminium frames from damage, they are built with the CUBE Frame Save System replaceable derailleur hanger. The mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one.

Download the Cube Bike Sizing Guide PDF

The right size bike for your body size is essential to ensure the optimum experience, comfort and enjoyment as you ride. With sizing varying between the type of bike, the brand and even the model, getting the perfect fit can seem daunting. That’s why we’ve compiled a handy guide to help you get the correct size.

Measure Your Height

Our handy size charts match your height to the appropriate frame size so you need to be sure you’ve measured your height accurately.

  1. Take off your shoes and stand with your back against a wall.
  2. Make sure legs are together and your shoulders are back.
  3. Place a pencil on top of your head and mark the wall (the best and easiest way to do this properly is with a friend to help you).
  4. Measure from the floor to the pencil mark you have just made with a tape measure.

Range of Reach

For most people to get the right frame size, measuring your height will suffice. However, you may find that your height is on the borderline of the range we suggest for a particular frame. If this occurs you need to measure the range of your reach or “Ape Index”. This will ensure you get a comfortable distance between the handlebars and your saddle.

  1. Stand up straight with your back against a wall.
  2. Life your arms out horizontally either side of you.
  3. Measure the distance from fingertip of one hand to fingertip of the other. This will give you your arm span.
  4. Subtract your height from this figure to get your Ape Index.
  5. If the result is positive (your arm span is greater than your height) you should go for the larger size of bike.
  6. If the result is negative (your arm span is less than your height you need the smaller size.

Stand Over Height

You should also consider your inside leg measurement when choosing your bike to ensure adequate stand over height. Stand over height is the clearance between the top tube and the bottom of your crotch. For mountain bikes we recommend a distance of 2-4 inches and for road or hybrid bikes 1-2 inches of clearance is required. This will ensure comfort when you’re stopped and standing astride the bike.

Our bike sizing charts take stand over height into consideration but if you have a particularly long or short inside leg measurement in relation to your height you will need to bear this in mind when selecting your frame size.

Riding Style

The way you ride and the type of bike you are into will also impact the frame size you should choose. For example, a trail devotee looking for an aggressive ride may prefer a smaller, more manoeuvrable bike size. It all comes down to personal preference and how the bike feels to you.

Our sizing charts aim to be as specific as possible so you can look up the particular type, make and model of bike you’re looking for. Remember, the sizes given in our guides are suggestions and should be used for general advice only. For the best possible fit  we recommend popping in to your local Leisure Lakes Bikes store, or call 0800 083 0888 for expert advice tailored to you.
