The Cube Ltd Race 29er Hardtail Mountain Bike 2013 is a fast sporty hardtail with the agility of a 26in bike!

Spread The Word

The Cube Ltd Race is a fast and sporty 29 inch hardtail which is great for ambitious riders. It boasts Agile Ride Geometry which gives it the agility of a 26incher, with all the advantages of the smooth rolling 29 inch wheels. Cube's Agile Ride Geometry for 2013 has been perfected and refined since the 2012 versions. It boasts an increased fork offsets with generous toe clearance to the front wheel, shorted chainstays and a patented construction to mount the front mech for more tyre clearance whilst keeping the conventional seat angle. This gives the perfect riding position for every rider size, with a BB height that's the same as on their 26 inch bikes you get a natural riding position so you'll feel instantly at home!

The frame of this impressive hardtail mountain bike is made from aluminium which has been heat treated to give impressive strength and stiffness as well as corrosion and fatigue resistance. The cross-ovalized down tube has been manufactures using an Advanced Mechnical forming process to give it exceptional durability. This frame works perfectly with the Magura hydraulic disc brakes with the cold forged brak mount and connection bridgebringing high rigidity and brake heat dissipation. You also get Cube's innovative Frame Save System with replaceable derailleur hanger with thread in the hanger itself.

With its 29 inch wheels this 29er mountain bike offers smooth rolling and a more efficient ride. Grip and traction increase thanks to the bigger wheels offering an increased surface area for ground contact which means that the Schwalbe Rapid Rob tyres can perform at their best. The high tech Rock Shox Reba RL air fork comes with Motion Control, PushLoc and 100mm of plus travel to smooth out the rough stuff that lies in your way. The Ltd Race Cube hartail also boasts an Easton EA30 stem and seatpost which are sturdy and long-lasting while the RFR Flat Race Bar offers perfect 29in handling. Shimano 3x10 components with Shimano XT rear derailleur are very reliable, while Magura MT2 disc brakes offer confident performance on every terrain.

The Cube Ltd Race is an agile and highly responsive machine, kitted out with an impressive specification which has been designed to offer fantastic performance for its price point. Order online from Leisure Lakes Bikes and our trained Cytech mechanics will build and test it for you completely FREE of charge! Our mail order team will then carefully pack it and send it out to your front door at a time that's convenient for you. Features

Aluminium Superlite: Extremely high tensile strength heat-treated 7005 aluminium alloy is developed for the highest requirements. It is very stiff, fatigue resistant, corrosion resistant and non-shearing. Our superlite tubes are doublebutted, giving very light tube-sets with a high level of stiffness.

Agile Ride Geometry: We ran innumerable tests to develop the Agile Ride Geometry in our 2012 series of big wheel bikes. This year we add the 650B wheelsize to the very well received portfolio. Three important details lead to the very agile character. Increased fork offsets let us achieve the same trail as our 26” bikes without having to steepen the head angle, thus maintaining generous toe clearance to the front wheel. Secondly we shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle. We invented a patented construction to mount the front derailleur to give us more tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, leading to a perfect riding position for every rider size. Last but not least we kept the BB height same as on our 26" bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position. Every mountain biker will feel immediately at home on a CUBE 29er.

OnePiece Design: Welded joints in our high-quality aluminum frames are specially finished via this method and create the impresssion of seamless tube design. This generates the visual effect of moulding and ensures high load bearing capacity.

Wet Paint Surface: On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.

Frame Safe System: To protect our high-end aluminium frames from damage, they are built with the CUBE Frame Save System replaceable derailleur hanger. The mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one.

Download the Cube Bike Sizing Guide PDF

The right size bike for your body size is essential to ensure the optimum experience, comfort and enjoyment as you ride. With sizing varying between the type of bike, the brand and even the model, getting the perfect fit can seem daunting. That’s why we’ve compiled a handy guide to help you get the correct size.

Measure Your Height

Our handy size charts match your height to the appropriate frame size so you need to be sure you’ve measured your height accurately.

  1. Take off your shoes and stand with your back against a wall.
  2. Make sure legs are together and your shoulders are back.
  3. Place a pencil on top of your head and mark the wall (the best and easiest way to do this properly is with a friend to help you).
  4. Measure from the floor to the pencil mark you have just made with a tape measure.

Range of Reach

For most people to get the right frame size, measuring your height will suffice. However, you may find that your height is on the borderline of the range we suggest for a particular frame. If this occurs you need to measure the range of your reach or “Ape Index”. This will ensure you get a comfortable distance between the handlebars and your saddle.

  1. Stand up straight with your back against a wall.
  2. Life your arms out horizontally either side of you.
  3. Measure the distance from fingertip of one hand to fingertip of the other. This will give you your arm span.
  4. Subtract your height from this figure to get your Ape Index.
  5. If the result is positive (your arm span is greater than your height) you should go for the larger size of bike.
  6. If the result is negative (your arm span is less than your height you need the smaller size.

Stand Over Height

You should also consider your inside leg measurement when choosing your bike to ensure adequate stand over height. Stand over height is the clearance between the top tube and the bottom of your crotch. For mountain bikes we recommend a distance of 2-4 inches and for road or hybrid bikes 1-2 inches of clearance is required. This will ensure comfort when you’re stopped and standing astride the bike.

Our bike sizing charts take stand over height into consideration but if you have a particularly long or short inside leg measurement in relation to your height you will need to bear this in mind when selecting your frame size.

Riding Style

The way you ride and the type of bike you are into will also impact the frame size you should choose. For example, a trail devotee looking for an aggressive ride may prefer a smaller, more manoeuvrable bike size. It all comes down to personal preference and how the bike feels to you.

Our sizing charts aim to be as specific as possible so you can look up the particular type, make and model of bike you’re looking for. Remember, the sizes given in our guides are suggestions and should be used for general advice only. For the best possible fit  we recommend popping in to your local Leisure Lakes Bikes store, or call 0800 083 0888 for expert advice tailored to you.
