Cube Ltd SL 29er Hardtail Mountain Bike 2013

The Cube Ltd SL is a fast, sporty 29er hardtail for performance-driven riders. Cube ARG geometry combines the excellent riding performanceof a 29in bike and the usual agility of a 26in MTB and delivers a natural, comfortable riding position that's sure to make you feel at home when you're out there on the trail. 

This excellent hardtail 29er has been constructed from double butted Aluminum Lite which offers strength and stiffness without adding weight. The cross-ovalized down tube has been manufactured using Cube's Advanced Mechanical forming process, designed for high durability, while the 3D dropouts are particularly stiff. The one piece design of the Ltd SL also means that it is capable of bearing a high load with a seamless finish that looks great. What this means is that you get a highly responsive and capable machine for a confidence inspiring ride. 

There's an outstanding specification that combines with the high quality frame to ensure you've got ultimate performance for tackling the trail. The Fo 32 Float CTD air fork boasts 100mm of travel and a sophisticated design which practically guarantees fun out there. Shimano SLX and XT 3x10 components are reliable and precise, while Magura MT2 disc brakes offer confident, highly effective stopping power no matter what the terrain. The finishing kit is made by Easton with EA30 stem and seatpost which are durable and long lasting, while the RFR Flat Race Bar offers the perfect handling for a 29er mountain bike.

Features

Aluminium Superlite: Extremely high tensile strength heat-treated 7005 aluminium alloy is developed for the highest requirements. It is very stiff, fatigue resistant, corrosion resistant and non-shearing. Our superlite tubes are doublebutted, giving very light tube-sets with a high level of stiffness.

Agile Ride Geometry: We ran innumerable tests to develop the Agile Ride Geometry in our 2012 series of big wheel bikes. This year we add the 650B wheelsize to the very well received portfolio. Three important details lead to the very agile character. Increased fork offsets let us achieve the same trail as our 26” bikes without having to steepen the head angle, thus maintaining generous toe clearance to the front wheel. Secondly we shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle. We invented a patented construction to mount the front derailleur to give us more tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, leading to a perfect riding position for every rider size. Last but not least we kept the BB height same as on our 26" bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position. Every mountain biker will feel immediately at home on a CUBE 29er.

OnePiece Design: Welded joints in our high-quality aluminum frames are specially finished via this method and create the impresssion of seamless tube design. This generates the visual effect of moulding and ensures high load bearing capacity.

Wet Paint Surface: n polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.

Anodized Surface: The colour of our aluminium frames with eloxal f inish is achieved by anodising, a chemical surface treatment process. This treatment hardens the surface, making the aluminium 1000times more scratch-resistant than before.

Frame Safe System: To protect our high-end aluminium frames from damage, they are built with the CUBE Frame Save System replaceable derailleur hanger. The mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one.
