At the heart of this high quality hardtail mountain bike is a double butted Aluminium Superlite 6061 frame. Developed to meet the highest requirements it has been heat treated to deliver a frame which is very stiff, fatigue resistant, corrosion resistant and non-shearing. What's more, the cross ovalized down tube has been constructed using Cube's Advanced Mechanical forming process for the added durability you'll need for the trai, while the one piece design offers a high load bearing capacity. The frame of the Cube Ltd Pro hardtail has been especially designed for use with disc brakes with a cold forged brake mount and seatstay brace delivering high rigidity and good brake heat dissipation. Aluminium Superlite: Extremely high tensile strength heat-treated 7005 aluminium alloy is developed for the highest requirements. It is very stiff, fatigue resistant, corrosion resistant and non-shearing. Our superlite tubes are doublebutted, giving very light tube-sets with a high level of stiffness.
Agile Ride Geometry: We ran innumerable tests to develop the Agile Ride Geometry in our 2012 series of big wheel bikes. This year we add the 650B wheelsize to the very well received portfolio. Three important details lead to the very agile character. Increased fork offsets let us achieve the same trail as our 26” bikes without having to steepen the head angle, thus maintaining generous toe clearance to the front wheel. Secondly we shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle. We invented a patented construction to mount the front derailleur to give us more tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, leading to a perfect riding position for every rider size. Last but not least we kept the BB height same as on our 26" bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position. Every mountain biker will feel immediately at home on a CUBE 29er.
OnePiece Design: Welded joints in our high-quality aluminum frames are specially finished via this method and create the impresssion of seamless tube design. This generates the visual effect of moulding and ensures high load bearing capacity.
Wet Paint Surface: n polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. We use this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight.
Anodized Surface: The colour of our aluminium frames with eloxal f inish is achieved by anodising, a chemical surface treatment process. This treatment hardens the surface, making the aluminium 1000times more scratch-resistant than before.
Frame Safe System: To protect our high-end aluminium frames from damage, they are built with the CUBE Frame Save System replaceable derailleur hanger. The mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one.
