Featured Local Route

Route Name: Local Road Ride

Description:
Rivington pike road ride. The ride starts from the shop and heads out through Bury town centre then out towards Edgworth. This part of the ride is a long steady climb and will seperate the men from the boys early in a gruling ride. Turning left after Edgerton takes you along side Wayoh Res. This is a brief rest bite all the way through to Belmont. Once at the end of Edgerton there are two options. Left is a slow staedy climb that takes you round to Smithills (easy ride for those who have struggled on the first climb) Right then first left at the Black Dog pub takes you over the top and onto the moors. This is a brilliand section of the ride (if the weather is kind) with some amazing views but can be very exposed. The drop back down into Rivington is a fast tight section not for the faint hearted. The ride then takes a flat route back with just a few smaill climbs through Astley Bridge then its down hill all the way. Its the time to get the legs spinning. Hitting speeds of 30 dropping down Bury and Bolton and back into the town centre and to the shop for a brew. This ride is a hard 31 miles and well deserves a rest on our sofa and a well earned brew out of our world famous coffee machine.
